9LIST ROUTIN3S | ANABEL ENGLUND: MORNING

1/ In the morning before I do anything else I say good morning to my dogs, cuddle them & drink some water. Before I check my phone for messages or emails I do a meditation on an app called Insight Timer. I meditate from 5-20 minutes depending on the day. One of my absolute favorite meditations is one called, “Coming Home to Being” by Tara Brach.

2/ I journal and write a little gratitude list or just what’s going on in my head. It doesn’t need to be a big long thing but I’ve found it really just helps me to clear space for the day. A cute journal I found and I have been using is one from this brand called Print Fresh.

3/ I make coffee & breakfast. TBH this is probably my favorite part of the day. To reduce waste I use a french press and compost my coffee grounds or make a body scrub out of them. I make my coffee with a little sugar and enough oatmilk to make it super creamy. YUM. I’m obsessed with Oatly. There is no better milk alternative out there in my opinion.

4/ I’ve been drinking so much water lately and it really helps with my mood. It’s helped me a lot to have a really big water bottle and just drink it throughout the day.

5/ As an afternoon pick me up I like to use a refreshing, hydrating facial mist. It’s a great way to reset my day. Recently I’ve been using this mist from Caudalie that I LOVE.

6/ This varies but in the afternoon I am either in my online Spanish Class, working on music, at a photoshoot or creating content at home for upcoming music, or driving to or from someplace. It’s kind of hard to say I do three things every afternoon because my days are always changing. Morning & nights are the times when I create the most space for a routine and that’s okay if you do the same or don’t. :)

 

9LIST ROUTIN3S | ANABEL ENGLUND: NIGHT

7/ I love the candle by Tatine, Swarm of Bees. I switch it up every now and then but right now my house smells like this.

8/ I wind down most nights with a cup of herbal tea as well. One of my favorites is this calming tea by Yogi. I like it because it’s not necessarily for going to sleep so I can drink it any time of day but it really is perfect and soothing.

9/ Before I go to sleep I turn my phone on airplane mode and leave it in the other room. I never have it in my bedroom. To turn my brain off of screen mode I read a little bit of a book right before bed. I just finished reading “The Vanishing Hall” by Britt Bennet. I also have a book of poems called “Inward” by Yung Pueblo. I love different kinds of novels and history.
